Tsila Abush Kirsh, Ph.D., CEO , Clinical and Forensic Psychology
Dr. Kirsh is a licensed psychologist and the founder of New Tampa Psychological Services (NTPS). She is also Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Parent Coordinator. She received her master’s and doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from Georgia State University (GSU) in Atlanta where she graduated Summa Cum Laude and received the prestigious President’s Award. She has many years of experience working in hospitals, schools/universities, and private practice settings.
Dr. Kirsh completed her internship at the James A. Haley V.A. Hospital in Tampa and her post-doctoral training at the Pasco County School System. She taught courses on development through the life span at the GSU Psychology Department and was part of numerous mental health research projects in the area of trauma, health psychology, and resiliency in children. Dr. Kirsh was a staff psychologist at the University of South Florida (USF) Counseling Center where she provided psychotherapy/consultations to students, faculty, staff, and their families as well as conducted a variety of workshops. She serves as a consultant to local private schools and various organizations. She is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), the Florida Psychological Association (FPA), the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC), the Florida Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (FLAFCC), and Rotary International.
Since opening her private practice in 2004, Dr. Kirsh has been known for her community-centered approach and contributions to improve the life of families in the Tampa Bay area. She has provided outstanding pro bono services and volunteer community activities. Her genuine care for the health and happiness of her clients guides her in her therapeutic work. Dr. Kirsh was born and raised in Israel and has been living in the USA since 1988. She is married and has two children. Dr. Kirsh uses her experience as a mother, teacher, researcher, and psychologist to provide the best interventions to her clients.
Elizabeth Paul, M.A., Groups Coordinator and Facilitator
Elizabeth Paul earned a Masters in Mental Health Counseling, graduating with honors from the University of South Florida. She completed her clinical internship with Sunshine Youth Services at a residential mental health facility where she provided individual, group and family counseling to children and adolescents suffering from a variety of mental health disorders. This experience provided invaluable hands-on education and experience as well as a lifelong interest in the field of children’s mental health.
Elizabeth has continued to pursue a career path which has afforded her opportunities to serve children and their families within the Tampa Bay community. She has provided in-depth evaluation, risk-assessment, group and individual counseling to at-risk youth within the Florida Juvenile Justice System. As an outpatient therapist, Elizabeth has counseled numerous families in both Hillsborough and Pasco Counties. Since 2007, Elizabeth has worked with Dr. Tsila Kirsh at New Tampa Psychological Services as the coordinator and facilitator of a variety of group therapy curriculums.
Originally from the Tampa Bay Area, Elizabeth has been married for fourteen years and has three children. She draws not only from her educational and professional expertise but also from her personal life experience when designing and leading group therapy programs. She can personally relate to a wide range of issues, such as divorce, blended families, bullying (both physical and cyber-bullying), learning disabilities, and other challenges associated with parenting and/or growing up in today’s ever-changing world.
